Military clothing and attack and defence weapons

In the Massari Hall there are original 15th-16th century weapons of attack and defence and military clothing, granted by kind concession from the collection of the National Gallery of Umbria.
Between 1415 and 1416 the Captain of fortune Braccio da Montone, with his troops passed through Umbria sowing destruction and death. He tried to conquer Corciano, but the small town defended itself gallantly and put Braccio’s troops to flight. The Perugian magistrates, as compensation for the heroic defence, exempted Corciano from every tax for five years. But Braccio did not stop: after conquering many other castles in the area of Perugia, he went back to threaten Corciano that, not being able to bear another siege, surrendered. In the 16th century Corciano passed, as did most Umbria, in the orbit of the Church State and became a fief of Corgna dukes who resided in the current Town Hall. In 1809 the Napoleonic army established the Imperial Government in Perugia and Corciano was declared a municipality. On 9 November 1860, the plebiscite for the annexation of the Province of Perugia to the Kingdom of Italy was published.
