The Hannibal Trail and Hannibal Museum

The historical-archaeological trail of the Battle of Trasimeno has 13 themed stations (stretching from the Hannibal Museum to the Capra palace), linked to significant moments of the battle as well as various in-depth themes: from historical-military aspects to geographical-historical and archaeological ones.
Each station, linked to army movements, is made up of three settings with panels. The first panel shows the ensemble of “trails amongst nature, history, art and traditions of Tuoro sul Trasimeno Municipality”.

The next set-up is the main one where the topic addressed in the station is illustrated. A series of great iconographies was used for this purpose (photos, graphics, colour illustrations…). In the “Hannibal Trail” illustrations of large-scale battle scenes are proposed with detailed images. General texts allow you to follow, step by step, the story of the battle itself, from the background to the final outcome; detailed captions give one the possibility of deepening the subject matter.

The third one offers the possibility of relating the episode treated in the station of the “Hannibal Trail” with the 4 main theories on the Battle of Trasimeno: those of Nissen (1867),  Fuchs (1904) – Pareti (1912) – De Sanctis (1917), the Susini theory (1960) and that of Brizzi – Gambini (2008).
